POEM FOR MOTHER.

For as long as I can remember
You have been an incredible
Presence in my life
The doting mother
A role you were born to play
And still play so well today
Whenever I need someone
To talk to
How clever you are
Always knowing
When I need advice
Or perhaps, just an ear to listen
It's funny, in my entire lifetime
I have never entered a room in your presence
Without seeing your entire face light up
Only you, Mom do that for me
And it makes me feel so loved
Mom, you mean the world to me!

Special Poem for my mom, for the mother's day will come on date 11.5.2014

For, those who like outdoor activities, Broga Hill could be a suitable destination for you to do some stretches during weekend. Broga Hill or Bukit Lalang is named after the local species of grass which grows on the hill. Broga Hill is quite famous especially for those who stay in Klang Valley. I believe most of us have seen Broga Hill in Facebook after your friends have visited or tagged in the albums.
Broga Hill is located in Broga, Semenyih which is about 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. During weekend or school holidays, you will find a lot of visitors here. Even there is society organize the hiking trip to Broga Hill as one of the society’s activity. Most of the hikers prefer either morning or evening to avoid the hot sun and as well enjoy the best view of Broga Hill.

How to get there?
In order to reach Broga Hill, first you have to get into Jalan Semenyih. I guess there are few options to reach Jalan Semenyih.

1. From Kajang town, go all the way straight until Jalan
Semenyih
2. SKVE -> Silk Highway -> Exit to Jalan Semenyih after 2nd toll
3. Kajang Seremban Highway -> Exit to Jalan Bangi -> Make a right turn to Jalan Semenyih

Next, go along Jalan Semenyih until you see a “Broga” road sign. There is a Petronas petrol station right opposite the T-junction. Make a left turn and go straight. On the way, you will find University Nottingham Campus (Malaysia) on your left. Go further until you reach a rabbit farm, the entrance to Broga Hill is the oil palm estate opposite the rabbit farm. They charge RM2 for parking inside the estate compound. If you prefer not to pay, you can just leave your vehicle beside the road.

What to expect?

1. Scenery
You can enjoy the nice view of sunrise or sunset on the hill top. Besides, you can also find rocks and green grass which makes Broga Hill a highly recommended destination for nature photography.

2. Outdoor challenge
Although there is not too much of challenge to reach the peak, but after all, Broga Hill can still offers the hikers some good exercise and work out.

3. Family time
If you are sick of spending your weekend in the concrete forest or shopping mall, why not bring your family to Broga Hill? You can bring along some food and have a picnic on the hill while spending time together. At the same time, let your children gain the exposure to outdoor activities and get closer to the nature.

HYPERACTIVE CHILDREN

Is My Child Hyperactive ?

Many parents find it difficult to manage thier active children. These children would be continually moving about, exploring the environment around them and in the process creating chaos. They may not be able to sit still for even a little while to concentrate on any activity. They want to be first to do anything and find it hard to wait their turn. They don't seem to get tired.
Before any active child is said to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (the clinical term for the significantly hyperactive child, he must show symptoms in 3 basic groups in most settings (e.g home and school).

1.  High level of motor activity
     - always moving about, running
     - can't sit still
     - fidgeting

2.  Poor concentration span
     - can't pay attention to teachers in kindergarten or school
     - can't complete assigned work or play activities even if it is just for a
       few minutes
     - easily distracted

3.  Impulsive behaviour
     - needs to satisfy his own wants immediately
     - can't wait for his turn in games
     - interrupts or intrudes on others

Parents should be careful in not to mislabel their normal but overactive, boisterous children as being hyperactive. Depending on their age and stage of development, a certain degree of exuberance, impulsivit and playfulness are considered normal.

When your child suffers from poor achievement in school or has poor interactions with hyperactivity. Hyperactive children are often considered naughty or delinquent.

When in doubt, do check with your doctor for an evaluation.

Who Can Help My Child...?

The child who is suspected of being hyperactive should be assesssed by a doctor (general practice or pediatrics specialist). The doctor may not then refer the child for further assessment and treatment if necessary to a child psychiatrist. Other professionals who are involved in helping hyperactive children include clinical psychologist, occupational therapists and special education (remedial) teachers.

Parents can do a lot to help their hyperactive child.

Type of Treatment for the Hyperactive Child.

1.  Behavioral techniques to help the child increase his self-control and
focus himself more usefully on daily tasks and interaction with other
     children.

2. Medications, where necessary, to increase attention span, to reduce
high motor activity levels and to reduce impulsive behaviour. Among
the most useful and effective is the group of medication of which
Methylphenidate is the most prominent. This requires specialist
     prescription.

3.  Support and education of parents & family members on how to
manage the hyperactive child at  home.

4.  Remedial education for those hyperactive children who also have
problems with schoolwork. Creating awareness and helping teachers
to  manage hyperactive children in the classroom.

How to bring out the best in your hyperactive child...?

1.  Get your child's attention first  (before you begin talking). Then make him look at you while you talk. Give clear, concise insructions.

2.  Get your child to repeat for you selected parts of what you want them to remember. Structure a routine for them. Supervise their keeping to the routine which becomes their responsibility. Reward good, appropriate behaviour.

3.  Allow your child breaks to refresh themselves (during homework,
studying or chores). They will perform better after a 5 or 10 minutes
break. Allow them outlets every day to expand their excess energy
e.g.running in playing field or playing physically demanding games.

4.  Do not encourage rough unctrolled play between adults and the
     hyperactive child.

5.  For the schoolgoing child, communicate with the class teacher
frequently.Consider getting help for the child's studies from a suitable

     tutor, if necessary.

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKE CAKE

There are many types of cake icing and each woman prefers a different one on her cake. Also, while some are quite easy to make, others will take plenty of time and practice to perfect, not to mention, it can be really intimidating for beginners as well as some of those who have been baking for a long time.

The most important thing to remember to master each of these is to not be afraid to repeatedly try and fail, until such time that you will achieve the right consistency for each. It can be a lot of fun to learn how to make a cake from scratch and you

Here are the most popular kinds of cake icing that you can use to finish your cakes.

1. Butter Cream
Butter cream is made of sifted powdered sugar, milk and superior butter. The quality of butter used will reflect on the appearance, consistency and taste of your butter cream frosting.
Children love this type of frosting and is one of the most common types used in cake decorating and the secret is whipping up the butter at the right temperature. Also, since this type of cake icing melts easily in hot weather, the finished cake must be chilled prior to serving to prevent the butter cream frosting from losing its stiffness.

2. Whipped Cream
This type of cake icing is achieved using cold heavy whipping cream and sugar. Some would advise you to use powdered sugar but ordinary granulated sugar would work just as well.
You can also add your preferred extract or flavoring to match your cake's flavor. This is a favorite among those who love a light and easy-to-make frosting on their cake.

3. Royal Icing
This type of cake icing dries into a hard outer shell. It is also one of the easiest to dye with edible colorings. There are two ways to make this type of frosting: using egg whites (like a meringue icing) and powdered sugar or by using meringue powder in place of egg whites.
This type of icing is also used to "flood" or color sugar cookies by adding a bit more water to make it pourable. The baker then uses different cake decorating tools to draw features on plain biscuits or cookies.

4. Cream Cheese Frosting
Cream cheese frosting is made with part butter cream frosting and a good quality cream cheese. This type of frosting is usually perfect for carrot cakes, red velvet cakes and as a filling for doughnuts and cupcakes because of its consistency.
It is a bit heavier to spread than most types of cake icing. Some would even put cream cheese frosting on their bread as a standalone spread!

5. Meringue
The basic ingredients for this frosting are egg whites, cold water and granulated sugar and is one of the most common types of cake icing. It is light and fluffy because air is introduced into the egg mixture to create a stiff consistency.
Adding some butter and you'll have a combined meringue and butter cream frosting, and there are three popular varieties for this type of cake icing: French, Italian and Swiss. The difference between the Swiss and Italian Meringue frosting is the method of beating the eggs.
Swiss meringue butter cream frosting involves whisking the egg whites au bain marie or on a hot water bath, heating them to a certain temperature and is an entirely different topic on its own.
On the other hand, Italian meringue butter cream frosting involves adding the caramelized sugar into the meringue mixture, thereafter, adding the butter cream mixture. Ideally, you should have two separate mixing bowls to beat the two mixtures before combining them.
French meringue butter cream frosting, in contrast, does not require heating the egg whites. Essentially, it is an uncooked meringue butter cream frosting.

6. Fondant
This is a popular heavy frosting among celebration cakes because it is easy to sculpt and work out. Usually, cake decorators also frost on top of the fondant using butter cream or other types of cake icing.
Basic fondant ingredients include gelatine, glycerine, water, icing or castor sugar (lighter than powdered sugar) and shortening. Other bakers would recommend using marshmallows in place of gelatine and glycerine.
Fondant is made by melting marshmallows (or heating the gelatine mixture) and adding the rest of the ingredients until you achieve the right consistency, which ideally, should stretch but should not tear easily. This cake icing is quite heavy and sculpting it to various shapes is possible with the use of carving and decorating tools.

7. Chocolate Ganache
Chocolate ganache and glazing are probably the most easiest cake icings to make. Watch my video tutorial how to prepare chocolate ganache: These are only some of the types of cake icing that you can use to finish your cake. However, always remember that a cake should be delicious even when eaten without the frosting.

The finishing touches and the decor should then heighten the cake eating experience to a higher level. Also, there is no limit to what you can do with edible cake toppers for your cake decorating, so have fun while you're at it.
